Turkey is placed amongst the top seven countries in the world regarding the richness and potential of geothermal resources  as well as being in the first place in Europe. Thermal waters in Afyonkarahisar and surrounding region are in superior quality due to both their flow rates and temperature as well as their various physical and chemical features. The city of Afyonkarahisar is the new shining star of the tourism for the country with regards to its thermal resources that are one of the the richest ones in the world as well as combining the health tourism with its rich historic fabric.

Health tourism is a field which develops continuously and combines renewed scientific concepts with available natural resources together in the most effective form. To improve the service quality of the Health care Professionals, to make those thermal establishments as a destination centres as well as making Afyonkarahisar a trademark city in this field are the major goals for Afyonkarahisar Administration as well as Afyon Kocatepe University. Afyon Kocatepe University, a young and dynamic institution, places a great importance to make contribution to the region where it is located. We are glad to organise an Internationally Participated Thermal Health Tourism Congress, which makes  the health and the thermal tourism get together within the framework of the University – Industry, University – City cooperation in Afyonkarahisar.

Within the framework of this congress, considerable numbers of thermal tourism representatives, professionals, managers and academics from many countries and primarily from the close regions like Europe, the Middle East, the Balkans, the Turkic Republics, the Central Asia as well as here from Turkey will be invited for the Internationally Participated Thermal Health Tourism Congress.

We invite all managers, investors and academicians of the public and private establishments who are in the field of Thermal Health Tourism to participate in this congress which will be held on  on 06 - 09 June 2012.
